Details: We are seeking an energetic and skilled leader to join us for a short backfill opportunity as the Senior Director, Planning and Strategic Asset Management, iCBR .

The Planning and Strategic Asset Management team provides oversight and the future vision for the iCBR asset portfolio as land and asset custodian (“owner”). We deliver strategic planning, program design, governance, reporting and advice on iCBR owned assets. We focus on the strategic, ensuring the portfolio of 244+ buildings and assets in the portfolio deliver fit for purpose accommodation solutions to the community and government tenants. Working closely with our delivery colleagues in Places and Spaces, we develop and maintain asset plans and registers, forward plan asset upgrades, manage acquisition and disposal of property assets, prepare the annual capital works Asset Renewal and Capital Initiative program and advise and implement building sustainability solutions that align with the governments environmental policy and targets.

You will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Asset Management and Planning
  • Capital Upgrades Planning and Project Identification
  • Acquisitions, Divestments and Lifecycle initiation of new assets
  • Heritage Management
  • Sustainability

We are looking for leaders who value partnership and can lead a team of 10+ staff in a client-focused, strategic role. Experience in leadership roles relating to property, strategic asset management, capital works reporting and business case development, heritage or sustainability policy would be desirable but not mandatory.

Eligibility/Other requirements

  • White Card - Workplace Health and Safety Induction (White Card) or willingness to obtain; General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Asbestos awareness card - Asbestos awareness card or a willingness to obtain - Asbestos Awareness Training and evidence of completion delivered by a Registered Training Organisation is required before commencement, for further information refer to: Asbestos Awareness Training - WorkSafe ACT
  • A current Driver’s Licence.

Notes: This is a temporary position available from 29 June 2026 to 17 July 2026, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.

Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.

Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
