Position Profile

Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group (FSFHG) are seeking a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our team. The successful applicant will provide a specialised clinical psychology service requiring a high level of knowledge and competence within the Breast Clinic Service that provides specialised consultation and supervision to Clinical Psychology Registrars as well as Students within the Department. Part of this role is providing expert consultation, liaison, end education on complex psychological disorders to the Breast Clinic Service. The ideal candidate will ensure practice is in accordance with laws and ethical standards governing psychological practice as per the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) as well as commit to undertake duties of the role in accordance with the WA Health Code of Conduct, the South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) Vision of Excellent health care, every time, and Values of Care (Kaaradj), Integrity (Ngwidam), Respect (Kaaratj), Excellence (Beli-beli) and Teamwork (Yaka-dandjoo).

The successful applicant will have effective communication and collaboration skills, experience working within hospital multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care alongside medical, nursing, and allied health professionals. This role is responsible for will planning, implementing, and evaluating psychological care, ensuring all practices align with AHPRA standards, WA Health Code of Conduct, and departmental values and guidelines.

We are a dedicated and dynamic team of Clinical Psychologists and Neuropsychologists at Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group (FSFHG), providing inpatient and outpatient specialised psychological services tailored to needs of the individual patient and their family/carers. Working within a multidisciplinary team, we offer comprehensive assessments, formulations and interventions for children, adults, and older adults with complex medical, chronic health, cognitive, rehabilitation and mental health needs. Our goal is to enhance patient outcomes through evidence-informed, holistic care, supporting engagement with treatment and rehabilitation. We also provide education and consultation to hospital teams. Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.

Eligibility

Are you eligible? To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
