Senior Scrum Master

At HBF, we deliver for our members in the moments that matter and great delivery starts with great teams. As a Senior Scrum Master, you'll help our squads stay focused, connected, and moving toward outcomes that matter for both customers and the business.
This is a senior role with real influence, where you'll support squad delivery while also helping lift capability and consistency across the wider Scrum Master cohort .
What you'll do
You'll be the person who helps teams do their best work, keeping priorities moving, facilitating important conversations, and making sure blockers don't get in the way of progress. You will also:
- Partner closely with Product Owners to keep priorities clear, backlogs ready, and squad goals aligned to business outcomes.
- Facilitate agile cadences and day-to-day squad routines in a way that keeps collaboration strong and work moving at a sustainable pace.
- Coach squads on agile behaviours, mindsets and practices, working alongside the Agile Coach to help teams perform at their best.
- Remove impediments, anticipate delivery risks, and step in early to keep momentum high.
- Build strong working relationships across Product Owners, Chapter Leads, and key delivery stakeholders, helping navigate trade-offs and dependencies across squads.
- Support and mentor other Scrum Masters, promoting consistency and maturity of agile practices across the chapter, while acting as a trusted escalation point.
About you
You're an experienced Scrum Master who knows how to lead through influence, create calm in complexity, and bring out the best in cross-functional teams. You're an excellent communicator who is just as comfortable in the detail as you are stepping back to see the bigger picture. You'll also bring:
- 5+ years' experience as a Scrum Master or Iteration Manager in agile environments.
- Relevant Scrum certifications such as CSM, PSM, SPS, PSPO or PAL.
- Strong problem-solving, scoping and planning capability, with the ability to quickly absorb information and turn it into action.
- Experience prioritising work and balancing delivery with customer needs in an agile setting.
- Confidence facilitating agile and design thinking methodologies, processes and practices.
- A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and project management lifecycle as well as experience using tools such as MS Suite, JIRA, Confluence, Miro and Mural.
