About the role

The Corporate Giving Relationship Officer plays a vital role in strengthening and growing Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation’s (SCHF) core community of corporate supporters. Focused on stewardship and retention, this role is essential to SCHF’s mission to fund pioneering research, enhance clinical care, and create positive experiences for patients and their families. By delivering exceptional donor care and ensuring meaningful, ongoing engagement, the Relationship Officer contributes directly to SCHF’s long‑term revenue, impact, and partnership objectives.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Giving, the Relationship Officer is responsible for managing a high‑volume portfolio of corporate donors giving up to $25K. The role delivers proactive stewardship, tailored experiences, and responsive frontline support that keeps partners informed, inspired, and committed year after year. This requires a relationship‑driven approach to understanding donor motivations, aligning corporate interests with SCHF’s priorities, and cultivating loyalty that strengthens SCHF’s sustained fundraising success.

Job Responsibilities

Fundraising

  • Deliver annual income targets of $750K–$1.2M, contributing directly to SCHF’s corporate giving growth strategy through strong stewardship, proactive engagement, and effective donor management.
  • Manage and nurture a portfolio of current partners with a focus on deepening relationships, increasing renewal rates, and identifying opportunities for upward giving.
  • Develop and deliver tailored partnership plans for assigned donors and partners that maintain strong relationships, encourage repeat giving, and support long-term retention.
  • Proactively manage donor interactions, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and escalated where necessary to protect relationships and maintain donor satisfaction.
  • Conduct meaningful donor meetings per quarter, building trust, deepening engagement, and identifying new opportunities for increased giving or expanded partnership activities.

Corporate Partner Events & Third-Party Activations

  • Coordinate the delivery of corporate partner events, ensuring seamless logistics, high‑quality experiences, and strong representation of SCHF’s mission and impact.
  • Provide frontline stewardship at corporate functions, strengthening donor relationships through tailored engagement and informed supporter interactions.
  • Support third‑party fundraising events by managing communications, preparing materials, and ensuring a positive and meaningful experience for participants.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver partner activations aligned to SCHF campaigns, enhancing visibility and deepening partner connection to priority causes.
  • Ensure donor recognition and storytelling opportunities were integrated into events, contributing to improved donor satisfaction and retention.

Stakeholders, Finance & Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the Corporate Partnerships – New Business team to ensure smooth onboarding of new partners, sharing insights to support retention, satisfaction, and long-term engagement.
  • Collaborate across SCHF teams to deliver a unified, high-impact approach to corporate partnerships, aligned with broader retention and growth objectives.
  • Leverage SCHF sponsorships and partnership opportunities to attract and engage prospective partners, clearly articulating their value and aligning them with SCHF’s mission.
  • Work with Granting and Impact teams to connect partners with meaningful, mission-critical initiatives that strengthen engagement and outcomes.
  • Integrate corporate partner interests into broader fundraising strategies, contributing to a cohesive, organisation-wide approach.
  • Share insights and best practices to enhance acquisition, retention, and overall partner experience across teams.
  • Maintain accurate Salesforce records to support proactive stewardship, informed decision-making, and long-term partner retention.
  • Ensure funds are managed in line with donor expectations and agreements, reinforcing transparency, trust, and repeat giving.
  • Monitor partner engagement and portfolio performance, identifying trends and opportunities to improve retention and growth.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications desired.
  • At least two years’ experience in a similar role demonstrating a donor focused approach, with the ability to communicate individually and collectively to a group of donors at all levels of the business.

Functional and Technical Skills

  • Proven ability to plan, develop, deliver and monitor large projects with evidenced success in achieving agreed outcomes and timelines while maintaining healthy relationships.
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate, be persuasive and develop trust, and manage a variety of internal and external stakeholders across all levels and from varying backgrounds.
  • Proven high level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write high quality cases for support/prospectus and make engaging presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and prioritise workload.
  • Experience building and managing department budgets preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and to collaborate across teams to achieve enhanced outcomes.
  • High level computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite and previous experience using CRM databases.

We are pleased to offer a full-time salary of up to $99,000 plus superannuation for this position. We believe in recognising and rewarding the valuable contributions of our team members.
