Business Information Specialist – NSW Trustee and Guardian

  • Ongoing full-time vacancy. 35 hours per week
  • Location: Parramatta. Flexible and hybrid working options available
  • Clerk Grade: 5/6. Salary $99,938 to $110,271 plus super and annual leave loading.

The agency supports the NSW Trustee, the Public Guardian and the Commissioner of Dormant Funds to carry out their statutory functions. We do this by providing a range of customer-centred services, including Will-making, trustee, financial management and guardianship services, including some for the state’s most vulnerable people.

About the team

The Information and Technology team supports the Director Information and Technology and Director Corporate Property through management of strategic projects, support and coordination of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and management of the agency’s corporate property footprint.

About the role

The Business Information Specialist is responsible for delivering effective and efficient Information Management support across NSW Trustee and Guardian in compliance with obligations under the State Records Act 1998 (NSW) and other relevant legislative requirements. The role supports the Senior Business Information Specialist to ensure physical and electronic information is managed appropriately and securely throughout its lifecycle and is disposed of when no longer required.

About you

  • experience delivering timely, accurate and compliant information and records management services

  • strong knowledge of information lifecycle management, including the creation, storage, retrieval and disposal of records

  • confidence using service management systems such as JIRA to respond to support requests and triage matters appropriately

  • ability to coordinate the secure handling of physical and digital records

  • capability to deliver user training in systems such as OpenText Content Manager and support projects, upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives

  • sound understanding of legislative and policy requirements, including the State Records Act 1998 (NSW)

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in information management or another relevant field, and/or equivalent knowledge and substantial experience in the information and records management industry.
