Digital Advisor - Content Creator

The Digital Advisor – Content Creator plays an important role in producing engaging and high-quality digital content that supports Victorian Labor’s communications and campaign objectives.
Working closely with the Director of Digital and Communications and the broader Digital Team, the Content Creator will help bring campaign messaging to life through compelling digital video content tailored to online audiences.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role focused on video content creation, storytelling and audience engagement across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and YouTube.
The role requires a creative and adaptable content creator with strong technical production skills, sound political judgement and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Produce engaging video, graphic and written content across Victorian Labor’s digital platforms.
- Create digital video, social content, graphics and digital storytelling tailored to platform audiences and formats.
- Support the production of campaign messaging, explainer content, rapid-response content and event coverage.
- Edit and deliver content efficiently while maintaining strong creative and production standards.
- Ensure content aligns with Victorian Labor branding, messaging and communications priorities.
- Support the delivery of digital video content during election campaigns and major campaign moments.
- Adapt content for different platforms, audiences and emerging digital trends, using in-platform tools to optimise engagement.
- Support audience engagement and growth across Victorian Labor’s organic digital channels.
- Work closely with the broader Digital and Communications Team to deliver digital content priorities.
Please note, this role requires availability outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends during campaign periods.
Our ideal candidate will
- Have at least 2–3 years’ experience in video content creation and social media production.
- Demonstrate strong skills in video ideation, scripting, filming, editing, graphic design and digital storytelling.
- Be proficient in creative production tools, including Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent platforms.
- Have a strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, content formats and audience engagement.
- Be highly organised and capable of delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines and in high-pressure environments.
- Exercise sound judgement and work effectively in fast-moving and politically sensitive settings.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team while also being proactive and self-directed, with the ability to pitch creative ideas and concepts to senior leaders.
- Share a commitment to the values of the Australian Labor Party.
Experience working in campaigns, advocacy organisations, unions, media or similar fast-paced environments will be highly regarded.
