About the Company

Enabling Pathways strengthens community wellbeing through practical support, connection, and inclusive programs. Our Community Division operates food assistance initiatives, a community “supermarket”, and local events that help individuals and families experiencing hardship. Volunteers play a vital role in maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment while delivering meaningful help to those who need it most.

What You’ll Be Helping With

As a Community Support Volunteer, you will assist with hands-on tasks that directly support families and individuals in our community.

  • Assist with preparing, portioning, and cooking food for hampers, community meals, and program needs.
  • Assemble, pack, and organise food hampers safely and respectfully.
  • Help maintain stock, rotate items, and support general operations within the community ‘supermarket’.
  • Deliver hampers to individuals and families using organisational vehicles.
  • Support the setup, pack-down, and general running of community events.
  • Engage positively and respectfully with community members and clients of Enabling Pathways.
  • Assist with other reasonable tasks related to community food programs and events.

  • A friendly, community-minded attitude.
  • A willingness to work safely with food, stock, and deliveries.
  • Reliability and the ability to follow guidance from employees.
  • Comfort working in kitchens, storerooms, or event spaces.
  • An interest in helping families and individuals experiencing hardship.
  • Basic physical ability to lift food items (up to approximately 10kg) or safely assist with deliveries.

Screening

Because this role may include working with vulnerable community members, handling donated goods, and driving, the following checks may be required:

  • ID (passport or birth certificate).
  • Volunteer Blue Card (if role involves contact with Young People).
  • Volunteer NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (if supporting NDIS participants at events).
  • Police Check (recommended for roles involving deliveries or working with vulnerable adults).
  • VEVO confirmation (if not an Australian citizen or permanent resident).
  • Driver licence check (if making deliveries).
  • Driver history report (if making deliveries).
