About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a Business Development Manager role focused on growing and strengthening our commercial broker network across Australia. You’ll be at the forefront of building meaningful relationships with brokers and aggregators, identifying opportunities, and bringing great deals to life.

At its core, this role is about connection, connecting brokers with the right solutions, collaborating with internal teams to deliver outcomes, and enhancing the BOQ Specialist and BOQ Finance brand in the market.

You’ll work closely with relationship managers, credit teams, and key stakeholders to structure and deliver commercial lending, asset finance, and blended residential deals, always with a focus on quality, profitability, and customer outcomes.

What You’ll Spend Your Time Doing Includes

  • Building strong, trusted relationships with commercial brokers and aggregators
  • Driving growth across the SME portfolio by identifying and converting opportunities
  • Reviewing and pricing deals to balance risk and return
  • Partnering internally to deliver seamless, high-quality outcomes for clients
  • Representing the business at industry and broker events to build brand awareness

About You

You’re someone who thrives on building relationships and creating opportunities. You’re confident engaging with brokers, comfortable working with complexity, and motivated by delivering great outcomes for both customers and the business.

You bring a strong understanding of the commercial lending landscape and know how to navigate deals, stakeholders, and conversations with confidence. Just as importantly, you’re someone who enjoys collaborating, influencing, and making things happen.

We’re Looking For Someone Who

  • Has experience in commercial lending and understands complex financial structures
  • Brings a strong network or proven ability to build credible relationships with brokers or stakeholders
  • Is commercially minded, with the ability to assess risk while driving growth
  • Communicates confidently, whether one-on-one or presenting to larger audiences
  • Is proactive, self-driven, and enjoys working as part of a high-performing team
