Senior Business Analyst

We're looking for a curious, outcome‑focused Senior Business Analyst to play a key role in delivering HBF's Data Strategy Program focused on strengthening data foundations, modernising analytics platforms, uplifting governance, and enabling self‑service and AI‑ready capabilities across the organisation.

This role will partner closely with Data & Analytics, Technology, and business stakeholders to translate strategic data recommendations into clear, actionable requirements and drive effective delivery of foundational improvements and priority use cases.

This position is Perth‑based on a full‑time, 12‑month fixed term contract.

About the role

Working on the Data Strategy Program, you'll cut through complexity across data assets, platforms, governance, and analytics use cases, driving clarity and enabling high‑quality delivery. You'll be the key facilitator, making complex data strategy concepts easily understood across all areas of the organisation. You will also;

• Independently lead stakeholders to assess current data processes, identify pain points and inefficiencies, and drive targeted improvements across data foundations, platforms, and governance practices.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across Data & Analytics, Technology, and the business to deeply understand current state challenges and target state outcomes defined in the data strategy.
• Lead elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business and functional requirements for foundational initiatives such as data asset uplift, analytics platform enhancements, and governance enablement.
• Capture business requirements in the form of user stories and acceptance criteria while proactively exploring how these can be streamlined using emerging technologies.
• Lead process, data flow, and capability mapping to assess current‑state workflows and define an optimised future state that drives meaningful process improvement.
• Work with business and technical team members to communicate requirements, support solution design, defect identification and analysis.

You are a seasoned Senior Business Analyst with experience working with Agile delivery teams. You are an excellent communicator and facilitator who influences stakeholders through clear dialogue, structured engagement, and an ability to translate complex concepts into shared understanding.

You are collaborative, delivery‑focused, and demonstrate positive behaviours. Known for your disciplined approach to work, you thrive in fast‑paced and ambiguous environments, and you prioritise and complete tasks on time without compromising quality. Ideally, you bring:

• Proven experience capturing and delivering requirements for data, analytics, or technology initiatives.
• Strong capability in user story decomposition, facilitating estimation sessions, and translating solution design into actionable technical stories.
• Sound understanding of data‑related concepts such as data assets, data quality, governance frameworks, reporting, and analytics platforms.
• Proficiency in tools such as Jira and Confluence, with a strong ability to absorb complex information, apply analytical thinking, and deliver clear, effective problem‑solving.
