The Role

As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll act as the technical bridge between our product, engineering teams, and prospective customers.

Working closely with the sales team, you’ll help merchants and partners understand how Hello Clever’s platform integrates into their payment stack, guiding them through technical discovery, solution design, and product demonstrations.

This role requires a rare combination of technical curiosity and commercial communication. You will need to understand the Hello Clever platform deeply while also being able to clearly articulate its value to non technical stakeholders throughout the sales process.

The ideal candidate is comfortable translating complex technical capabilities into clear, practical business outcomes for merchants and partners. You’ll help bridge the gap between technical implementation and commercial conversations, ensuring customers understand both how the platform works and the value it delivers.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring clients understand how to implement and maximise the value of Hello Clever’s platform as we continue expanding across the Australian market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Account Executives during the sales cycle to provide technical expertise and solution design
  • Lead technical discovery conversations to understand client architecture, payment flows, and integration requirements
  • Deliver product demonstrations and walkthroughs tailored to merchant use cases
  • Translate technical capabilities into clear, practical solutions for merchants and partners
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to support solution feasibility and integration design
  • Assist clients in understanding integration pathways, APIs, and implementation considerations
  • Stay up to date with payment technologies, local payment rails, compliance requirements, and industry trends

About You

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in solutions engineering, pre-sales, technical account management, or implementation roles
  • Experience within payments, fintech, SaaS, APIs, or financial services is highly advantageous
  • Understanding of payment gateways, acquiring, card processing, account-to-account payments, or alternative payment methods
  • Comfortable discussing technical architecture, integrations, and APIs with technical stakeholders
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, commercial value
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Curious, proactive, and excited to help solve real merchant problems with technology
