Digital IAM Technical Lead

We are partnering with an organisation delivering large-scale digital identity and security transformation programs across enterprise and government clients. This is a Melbourne-based contract role (6-month initial term with potential for multiple extensions) requiring an active NV1 security clearance. You’ll be part of a growing Digital Identity practice working on complex, high-impact IAM initiatives.

Your new role

As a Digital Identity Technical Lead, you will play a key role in delivering IAM solutions across complex environments, sitting at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and program delivery.This role is ideal for someone who has evolved from a hands-on IAM engineering background into leading delivery — comfortable guiding teams, driving Agile outcomes, and engaging senior stakeholders while still staying close to the technology.You will:

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of IAM solutions across transformation programs
• Act as the technical lead within delivery squads, guiding engineers and shaping implementation outcomes
• Drive Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, backlog management, and stakeholder alignment
• Oversee IAM capabilities such as:
  • SSO, MFA and authentication services
  • Identity lifecycle management (Joiner/Mover/Leaver)
  • Access governance and role modelling
  • Privileged access management
• Collaborate with architects, program managers, and client stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
• Support integration of IAM platforms into enterprise and cloud ecosystems
• Mentor engineers and contribute to capability uplift within the team
• Manage risks, dependencies, and timelines across multiple delivery streams

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong experience in Digital Identity / IAM, with a solid technical foundation
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead, IAM Lead, Scrum Lead, or IAM-focused Project/Program Lead
• Hands-on exposure to IAM platforms such as:
  • Okta, SailPoint, Ping Identity, CyberArk, Delinea, or Microsoft Entra
• Strong understanding of:
  • Authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, OIDC)
  • Identity lifecycle management & governance
  • RBAC / access models
• Experience delivering in Agile environments
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• A consultative approach with the ability to balance technical depth and delivery outcomes
• Active NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory)
