Senior Product Manager - Mortgage In Life Retention

ING Australia

At ING, we’re redefining what banking looks like — and we’re one of the fastest growing banks in Australia. Our Mortgages business is a critical engine of that growth, and this role sits right at the centre of it. As part of the In-Life Management team, you’ll focus on retention of our existing mortgage customers — one of the most strategically important and commercially impactful areas of the business.

This is not a traditional product role. As Senior Product Manager - Mortgage In Life Retention, you’ll bring proven product management experience in mortgages, with a clear focus on retention and in-life portfolio management. You’ll own and shape the retention strategy end-to-end — from identifying opportunities through data and insights, to influencing pricing, through to delivering customer journeys and campaigns that directly improve performance and customer experience. Exceptional commercial acumen is key, as your work will directly impact retention, margin and overall portfolio growth.

What sets this opportunity apart is the breadth of remit and accountability. You’ll have ownership across the full value chain — strategy, pricing, experience and delivery — working closely with teams across Marketing, Pricing, Frontline, Digital and Operations to bring initiatives to life at pace.

If you’re looking for a role where you can move quickly, influence broadly and see the tangible impact of your work, this is it!

What you’ll do

  • Drive retention strategy and initiatives across the mortgage lifecycle, identifying opportunities to reduce attrition and improve portfolio performance
  • Shape pricing and commercial outcomes, influencing interest margin, balance sheet performance and retention economics
  • Lead data-led decision making, using analytics to uncover opportunities and optimise customer outcomes
  • Design and deliver customer journeys and campaigns across direct and broker channels to improve engagement and loyalty
  • Partner cross-functionally (Marketing, Risk, Digital, Operations) to deliver initiatives end-to-end — from ideation through to execution

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in mortgages; ideally with a focus on retention or in-life portfolio management
  • Strong commercial acumen, with an understanding of pricing, margins and balance sheet levers
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes in a complex, cross-functional environment
  • A data-driven mindset, comfortable using insights to shape strategy and make decisions
  • A proactive, self-starting approach — someone who thrives in a high-ownership, fast-moving environment
