This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in shaping the growth of Australia’s space industry, driving membership, partnerships and revenue to increase the impact of the national peak body in shaping one of the world’s most exciting technology-enabled transformational industries.

As Head of Memberships & Growth, you will be responsible for leading SIAA’s membership growth, stakeholder engagement and revenue delivery. You will play a central role in strengthening member value, expanding partnerships, commercial initiatives and supporting financial sustainability across SIAA’s operations. This role combines strategic leadership with stakeholder engagement and commercial thinking to support organisational growth, industry collaboration and long-term sustainability.

Key Role Responsibilities

Membership Growth and Engagement

  • Lead development and delivery of SIAA’s membership growth and retention strategy
  • Own membership value proposition and engagement framework
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with key members, sponsors and partners
  • Identify opportunities to expand membership across priority sectors and stakeholders
  • Support development of member-led initiatives, working groups and engagement opportunities
  • Monitor and report on membership trends and provide insights to inform and drive growth strategy
  • Support onboarding and engagement of new members
  • Ensure consistent and high-quality member experience across SIAA initiatives

Revenue and Commercial Delivery

  • Lead development of SIAA’s revenue strategy aligned to organisational priorities
  • Identify and develop sponsorship, partnership and broader revenue opportunities both personally and through close collaboration with the SIAA team and Board
  • Owning and leading commercial opportunities across SIAA programs and initiatives
  • Partner with CEO on major partnerships and strategic revenue opportunities
  • Identify opportunities for new revenue streams including programs, events and initiatives
  • Owning and leading pricing strategy and membership structure evolution
  • Define and supervise Southern Space sponsorship and other event sponsorship and revenue strategy
  • Owning and leading development of partnership and sponsorship materials

Industry Engagement and Value Proposition

  • Lead stakeholder engagement across industry, members and partners
  • Lead the development of industry engagement initiatives aligned to strategic priorities
  • Identify industry needs and translate into membership and revenue opportunities
  • Lead the development of member benefits and engagement initiatives
  • Collaborate with Head of Workforce & Policy to align workforce initiatives with member needs
  • Lead the development of industry partnerships and collaboration opportunities
  • Represent SIAA in industry engagement where required
  • Manage and coordinate Database registry

Supporting Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CEO and leadership team on strategic priorities, Budget and reporting including financial and stakeholder engagement
  • Support cross-functional initiatives aligned to SIAA’s strategy
  • Contribute to organisational planning, reporting and strategic execution
  • Lead marketing and communications initiatives aligned to membership and growth
  • Work collaboratively across the SIAA team, members and stakeholders
  • Support organisational priorities and initiatives as required

What You Must Have

  • Proven experience leading membership growth, business development, partnerships, sponsorship, revenue generation or sales functions with demonstrated results
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify, develop and convert strategic growth opportunities
  • Demonstrated experience managing and growing stakeholder relationships across industry, government, corporate or member-based environments
  • Experience developing and delivering growth, engagement or revenue strategies aligned to organisational objectives
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders confidently and professionally
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, initiatives and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to operate independently and drive outcomes
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, stakeholder management and reporting tools
  • A genuine interest in Australia’s space industry, innovation, advanced technology or industry growth sectors
