Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in a senior engineering or technical leadership role
• Extensive hands-on experience in software engineering, solution delivery, and technical leadership with the .NET stack (C#, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, Web APIs, etc.)
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms
• Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to see the big picture
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps in a .NET environment
• Experience with cloud platforms (SaaS, PaaS), Azure devops, and domain-driven design
• Deep understanding of architecture principles, governance, and best practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to engage with both technical and business audiences.
• Experience in technical leadership, including mentoring and developing engineers.
• Subject matter expertise in one or more areas: Application Architecture, Integration, Data Architecture, Infrastructure, Security.
• Degree in Computer Science (or related discipline).

Key Accountabilities

• Working with the GM of Engineering & Innovation to apply and advocate for high-level and domain-specific architecture principles
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex systems and platforms. Write high-quality, maintainable code and set technical standards for the team
• Ensure solutions are future-proof, sustainable, and aligned with business objectives
• Provide deep technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams. Review code, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvement in engineering practices
• Work closely with GMs, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet both immediate and long-term business needs. Break down silos and foster cross-team collaboration
• Drive the simplification of user interfaces and backend services. Apply domain-driven design and consolidate features to improve user and developer experience
• Design and implement decoupled, componentized systems that enable autonomous teams and rapid delivery
• Ensure engineering solutions comply with architectural governance, policies, and standards. Participate in design reviews and architecture boards as needed
• The Principal Engineer is a senior, hands-on technical leader responsible for designing, building, and delivering robust, scalable, and future-proof technology solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with practical implementation, ensuring that engineering decisions are guided by enduring architectural principles and aligned with business strategy. The Principal Engineer leads by example, actively contributing to code, solution design, and technical problem-solving, while mentoring teams and driving engineering excellence.
