Your new role
As Head of School, you will provide academic leadership across your discipline, ensuring the effective delivery and continuous improvement of courses. You will oversee teaching quality, student outcomes, and academic integrity, while driving innovation in learning and teaching practices.
You will lead academic operations, manage and develop a high-performing academic team, and play a key role in course development, accreditation, and industry engagement. This position also contributes to key academic governance committees.
Leading course delivery, academic quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
Driving student engagement, progression, and success outcomes
Managing academic staff performance, recruitment, and development
Ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and academic standards
Supporting course accreditation, review, and new program development
Building strong relationships with industry partners and stakeholders
Contributing to broader organisational strategy and academic governance
What you'll need to succeed
A PhD or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline
Proven leadership experience within a higher education environment
Strong background in academic management, course development, and accreditation
Demonstrated knowledge of higher education regulatory frameworks (e.g. Higher Education Standards Framework)
Experience leading high-performing teams and driving change and innovation
Expertise in contemporary teaching, learning, and assessment practices
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
High level of IT proficiency and systems knowledge
Key competencies include leadership, collaboration, decision-making, problem-solving, and effective time management.
