Details: Waste Regulation is seeking two Senior Compliance Officers with an interest in the waste industry to join our team. The team supports the Waste Manager and administration of the Waste Management and Resource Recovery Act 2016 to create a regulatory environment that promotes and rewards responsible practices in waste management and resource recovery. Additionally, it supports the Government’s objective to reduce waste and minimise the volume of material going to landfill.
Waste Regulation works closely with co-regulators in Access Canberra, including the Environment Protection Authority, in proactive and responsive regulatory activities. The programme of work covers the licencing and registration of waste management businesses, compliance monitoring and analysis of data and information, and the selection of enforcement approaches to support compliance. Working in a small team, you will undertake inspections and desktop reviews of regulated entities, identifying compliance matters and making recommendations.
