Risk Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced Risk Specialist with financial services experience in fraud/scams, financial crime, operational risk or compliance (superannuation preferred) . This role will support the uplift of fraud and scams risk management by strengthening governance and reporting and delivering priority project activities, while also providing BAU capacity.

This is an excellent opportunity for a risk professional who enjoys working closely with stakeholders to embed effective governance, improve controls, and support sound decision-making within a complex financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver agreed uplift activities across the priority FSC 29 implementation scope including documentation, control/process uplift support, monitoring/reporting enhancements, and evidence packs.
  • Work directly with stakeholders to progress deliverables, resolve blockers and track delivery to milestones.
  • Provide advice, challenge and support to business stakeholders to ensure risk is managed in line with the organisation’s risk appetite, framework and strategy.
  • Promote adherence to the Trustee’s Risk Management Framework across the Administration portfolio, including:
  • Identification and management of operational and compliance incidents and issues
  • Providing guidance on rectification activities and member remediation
  • incident management and co-ordination, control uplift tracking, ad-hoc assurance/regulatory requests).
  • ability to produce practical work products (controls/process mapping, policy/procedure updates, monitoring/reporting, evidence collation) in a matrix environment

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in risk management within superannuation, financial services, or wealth management.
  • ability to produce practical work products (controls/process mapping, policy/procedure updates, monitoring/reporting, evidence collation) in a matrix environment
  • Strong capability in governance design and reporting (MI, dashboards, packs for senior forums), stakeholder management and delivery coordination.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks, controls and governance practices.
  • Experience of at least 3 years in an operational risk, compliance, governance or policy role preferably within financial services (superannuation environment)
  • Demonstrated experience and comprehensive knowledge of risk, compliance, governance, superannuation trusteeship, general superannuation, and financial services
  • Ability to interpret and translate legislation into policies, procedures and processes
