About The Client
Our client operates a major bauxite mining and alumina refining operation in the Northern Territory, producing and exporting high-quality resources while supporting regional communities and long-term supply.
About The Role
This role is a key part of the Gove Refinery Closure (Phase 2) Project, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of Decontamination, Demolition and Disposal (DDD) and Rehabilitation activities. Working closely with the Senior Project Engineer, you will coordinate engineering controls, contractor interfaces, quality assurance processes and project risk initiatives to help drive successful project outcomes.
The position offers a diverse and hands-on scope across engineering, construction, HSE, waste management and continuous improvement activities, with opportunities to lead small execution contracts and contribute to major closure and rehabilitation milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of DDD and Rehabilitation engineering activities.
- Coordinate QA/QC activities, inspections, ITP sign-offs and documentation.
- Participate in HSE initiatives, including LiF and CRM activities.
- Liaise with operations, contractors and consultants to resolve engineering issues.
- Review and approve drawings, technical documentation and contractor submissions.
- Manage small multi-discipline contracts and support project delivery.
- Support waste management, recycling and weighbridge operations.
- Lead project risk management and cost/schedule improvement initiatives.
About You
- Experience supporting engineering or construction projects in heavy industry, mining or rehabilitation environments.
- Knowledge of QA/QC processes, inspections and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of HSE and risk management practices.
- Ability to coordinate contractors and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.
- Experience reviewing drawings and technical documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.
Qualifications
- Degree qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Relevant experience in engineering, construction, demolition, rehabilitation or heavy industry projects.
- Understanding of QA/QC, HSE and risk management processes.
- Experience working with contractors, technical consultants and project stakeholders.
- Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management/document control systems.
- Current drivers licence and ability to work on site as required.
