Senior Project Engineer - Commercial Construction

Summary

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Project Engineer to join a leading commercial builder delivering a $80m+ new build mixed use development near Perth CBD.

You'll be joining an established tier 2 commercial building head contractor who specialise in delivering a diverse range of projects - Commercial, Mixed Use, Healthcare/Hospitals, Industrial - typically in the $50-150m project value range.

The Role - Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take ownership of key packages from procurement through to delivery, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project engineering functions across key trade packages
• Drive procurement, scope definition, and subcontractor engagement
• Oversee programme and ensure critical milestones are achieved
• Monitor cost, variations, and forecasting in collaboration with the commercial team
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and site team members
• Work closely with site and design teams to resolve technical issues
• Maintain a strong focus on safety and risk management

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience as a Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer within commercial construction
• Experience delivering large-scale projects ($50m+), ideally within healthcare or complex builds
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across design, commercial, and site teams
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar
