We are now looking for an experienced Senior Engineering & Compliance Manager – AU Hotels to lead statutory compliance, essential services governance and engineering advisory support across EVT’s Australian hotel portfolio.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded engineering or facilities professional who understands hotel operations, compliance obligations and asset management within a multi-site hospitality environment.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager – Hotel Engineering & Facilities Management, this role is responsible for managing compliance and routine maintenance governance across hotels nationally.
You will oversee compliance frameworks, support hotel engineering teams, provide technical guidance and ensure preventative maintenance and essential services programs are effectively managed across the portfolio.
The role includes direct management responsibility for the Engineering & Compliance Manager – AU Hotels and works closely with Chief Engineers, Maintenance Managers, hotel leadership teams and external compliance partners.
The position can be based in Brisbane or on the Gold Coast (QT Gold Coast preferred) with flexible working arrangements available, including 2–3 office days per week. National travel is required, including visiting at least one hotel per month across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead statutory and essential services compliance across EVT’s Australian hotel portfolio.
- Oversee compliance programs, audits and Annual Essential Services Compliance Statements.
- Manage routine maintenance governance and preventative maintenance standards across hotels nationally.
- Conduct on-site hotel inspections, engineering reviews and compliance audits.
- Support and guide Chief Engineers and Maintenance Managers across the portfolio.
- Drive compliance reporting, contractor management and rectification follow-up activities.
- Support CAPEX planning, asset lifecycle management and engineering budget preparation.
- Maintain oversight of engineering compliance systems and MyBuildings asset management processes.
- Chair monthly maintenance and engineering compliance calls across the hotel network.
- Provide regular compliance and operational reporting to senior leadership.
- Mentor and develop the Engineering & Compliance Manager – AU Hotels.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in engineering compliance, facilities management or asset management within hotels or hospitality environments.
- Hospitality experience is essential.
- Strong understanding of building compliance, essential services and preventative maintenance programs.
- Technical knowledge across HVAC, fire protection, electrical, plumbing/gas and hotel building systems.
- Experience managing multi-site operations, compliance audits and contractor performance.
- Trade background highly regarded, particularly candidates with operational engineering experience.
- Engineering qualifications are not essential but will be highly regarded.
- Experience leading or supporting Maintenance Managers, Chief Engineers or Facilities teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to balance operational support with strategic compliance oversight.
- Experience within major hospitality or similar environments will be highly regarded.
