Senior Manager Insights
News Corp Australia
What's the role?
We’re looking for a strategic, curious and business-minded insights leader who can turn data into clear, actionable insight that drives subscriber growth and better decision-making.
This is a newly created leadership role, reflecting the growing importance of the insights function and the need for dedicated ownership, clearer direction and stronger support for the team.
As Senior Manager, Insights, you will lead the insights function, managing a geographically dispersed team and shaping how insight supports subscriber growth, retention, engagement and audience development across the business.
While there is a hands-on data component, this is not a deeply technical specialist role. You will be expected to maintain sufficient technical capability to guide the team, engage confidently with data and step in when required, but the core focus is leadership, communication and driving action from insight.
The role reports to the Head of Audience Insights & Experimentation and will involve some travel.
Responsibilities
- Lead the insights function, setting priorities and driving initiatives focused on subscriber growth, retention, engagement and audience development
- Manage, mentor and develop a team of analysts across multiple locations, providing coaching, clarity and support to lift capability and performance
- Translate complex or ambiguous business questions into structured analysis, meaningful insight and practical recommendations
- Analyse subscriber, audience, content and product performance to identify trends, risks, opportunities and areas for optimisation
- Partner closely with editorial, product and commercial stakeholders to understand audience behaviours and influence strategic decision-making
- Present insights clearly and confidently to a range of stakeholders, helping the business understand key findings, commercial impact and recommended actions
Who are you?
- You have 5+ years’ experience in insights, analytics, audience, strategy or digital roles within media, subscription or similarly fast-paced digital businesses
- You’re a strong people leader with experience managing and developing high-performing teams in collaborative environments
- You’re commercially minded and able to connect data and insights to broader business outcomes, subscriber growth and audience strategy
- You have hands-on experience working with SQL and reporting or visualisation tools such as Looker, Power BI or Tableau
- You’re an excellent communicator who can simplify complex information and confidently influence stakeholders across different functions and seniority levels
- You thrive in fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environments and are proactive, accountable and solutions-focused in the way you work
