A globally backed, high-growth energy technology company is expanding within the Australian market, focused on delivering advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions at utility scale.

This is a Senior Business Development Lead with opportunity to influence commercial strategy across Australia and eventually APAC, build partnerships, and deliver a high-quality project pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the Australian go-to-market strategy for utility-scale BESS, from origination through to commercial close
  • Build and activate a strong network of IPPs, developers, EPCs, system integrators, and grid stakeholders
  • Identify and develop opportunities across utility-scale and large C&I BESS projects
  • Lead techno-commercial processes including RFPs/RFQs, bid strategy, pricing, and contract negotiation
  • Monitor market dynamics, regulatory updates, and competitor activity to inform positioning
  • Support structuring of bankable solutions, including EPC, Supply & Install, LTSA, and O&M frameworks
  • Provide market intelligence and pipeline visibility to regional and global leadership

About You

  • Proven experience in Australian utility-scale energy or infrastructure, within a revenue generation role, such as sales, business development or market development
  • Strong track record delivering or contributing to BESS, solar, wind, or storage projects
  • Deep understanding of Australian grid connection and regulatory frameworks
  • Established industry network across developers, IPPs, EPCs, utilities, and network operators
  • Demonstrated success in complex deal execution and high-value contract negotiation
  • Commercially astute with the ability to operate autonomously in a global organisation
  • Degree qualification in engineering, energy, or a related commercial discipline (preferred)
