What you'll be doing

This is a unique opportunity for a Speech Pathologist to gain valuable experience within a supportive team and hospital environment. The role is based at Port Macquarie Hospital and provides clinical care across ICU, Stroke, Respiratory, General medical and inpatient oncology. The role coordinates staffing allocation and provides clinical support to speech pathologists providing outreach across two smaller regional hospitals.

VFSS and FEES are well established within the service and the level 3 clinician will have the opportunity to work within and lead these specialised areas. Ideally candidates come with skills and knowledge in MBS and or FEES, however structured onsite mentoring is available for those building proficiency.

Candidates ideally will have had experience supervising students or junior clinicians, and there will be further structured support locally on site to gain further skills in supervision.

This temporary maternity leave position offers potential for extension.
