Clinical Services Manager

Lives Lived Well

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced and values-driven leader to join Lives Lived Well as our Clinical Services Manager (CSM) for Far North Queensland, based in Cairns with travel to Mareeba 2-3 days per week.

As Clinical Services Manager, you will play a critical leadership role across our Far North Queensland services - providing both strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality service delivery. You will work closely with the Assistant Clinical Director and lead multi-disciplinary teams across residential and community programs, ensuring services are aligned to organisational priorities and community needs

You’ll be someone who enjoys being present, relational, and hands-on, and who can build on the solid foundations already in place.

About the Services

Shanty Creek (Mareeba)

Shanty Creek is a key residential AOD service supporting Indigenous people on their recovery journey through structured, therapeutic programs.

Shanty Creek is continuing to build on its strong foundations as a service grounded in cultural respect, inclusion and lived experience. Over the next two years, the site will further strengthen its role as a flagship service for cultural excellence, with a focus on embedding culturally safe practice and deepening engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

We’re looking for a leader who is genuinely committed to this journey - someone who brings cultural curiosity, humility, and the ability to build strong community relationships.

Cairns Community AOD Services

Our Cairns team delivers accessible counselling and support services across the region. The team is established, engaged and well connected locally - providing a strong base to continue building on.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll have a mix of leadership, operational and strategic focus, including:

  • Leading, supporting and developing team leaders and multidisciplinary teams with regular weekly travel between Cairns and Mareeba
  • Strengthening team culture, wellbeing and retention by providing coaching, supervision, clear expectations, and performance feedback
  • Overseeing to the day-to-day operations – ensuring services are compliant, efficient and client-focused - while keeping an eye on the bigger picture
  • Supporting strong client flow, service quality, risk management, and continuous improvement across the site
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with community, partners, referrers, and key stakeholders
  • Supporting culturally safe practice and strengthening engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Using data, feedback and service insights to guide decisions, improve practice, and support sustainable service delivery

About You

You’re a relational, grounded and purpose-led leader who:

  • Brings leadership experience in AOD, mental health, aged care, disability or another human services field
  • Has strong cultural capability and a genuine commitment to culturally safe practice, inclusion, and community engagement
  • Is confident leading through complexity, change and growth
  • Builds trust, engages teams, and fosters accountability
  • Can balance people leadership with operational discipline, quality, compliance, and risk management
  • Is solutions-focused, adaptable, and future-oriented
  • Holds a relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Nursing or similar)
  • Offers strong leadership, operational, and stakeholder engagement experience
  • Has a current Australian Driver Licence and is willing to complete a National Police Check

Although this is not an identified role, we strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and their allies, to apply. We welcome applicants who bring a demonstrated commitment to culturally safe practice and working respectfully alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
