Ward 5B is a 32-bed surgical ward. We care for a range of surgical patients undergoing Orthopaedic, Plastic & Reconstructive, Gynaecological, General, Breast, and Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery.

The Role

Provide an effective and efficient clerical, administration and reception support for the hospital ward, with functions undertaken under general direction, based on established procedures and practice.

  • Providing frontline reception and general administrative and clerical support services to staff working in Ward 5B.
  • Taking responsibility for the timely and accurate completion of clerical tasks and the integrity of data in the patient medical record and other patient related services.
  • Demonstrating ability to maintain effectiveness and work without supervision in an environment often subject to workload pressures. Strong co-ordination and follow up skills, together with the capacity to be adaptable and flexible and to monitor and prioritise work in order to meet deadlines.

Details of appointment

  • Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing 15 June 2026.
  • Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
