About Geoscape

Geoscape Australia delivers location intelligence solutions that help build a smarter, safer and more productive Australia. We are a self‑funded, government‑owned company operating with a commercial focus to achieve public benefit.

As a small, innovative data enterprise at the intersection of the public and private sectors, Geoscape plays a key role in Australia’s modern data economy, transforming geospatial data into products and services that support better decision‑making across areas such as emergency management, infrastructure planning, climate risk, utilities and service delivery.

As part of the Board’s normal rotation cycle, Geoscape will be appointing two Non‑Executive Directors, with the appointments to take effect from November 2026. This is a unique opportunity to guide a commercial technology business serving the public interest and to help steer Geoscape’s next phase of growth and impact.

The Roles

Each new Director will bring a distinct skill set and focus:

• Data / Digital / Spatial Leader You have deep experience in, or a strong appreciation of, data management (ideally including spatial data), and the ability to support the stewardship of nationally significant data assets in the public interest. You bring commercial acumen and strategic insight from overseeing data and digital product lifecycles and guiding major investment decisions, and you have experience shaping an entrepreneurial approach to digital innovation.
• Finance / Audit Leader You are a seasoned commercial leader with finance and audit expertise. Accounting qualifications or equivalent senior financial experience are required. You may have operated in both commercial and government contexts, and you demonstrate a strong commitment to accountability, rigorous risk management and high standards of governance.

Board & Commitments

You will join an engaged board overseeing a high‑performing executive team, operating in a positive, purpose‑driven culture. The Board meets five times per year (with strategy sessions incorporated annually), and sub‑committees convene approximately three times per year.
