About The Role
We have an exciting 12-month secondment opportunity for a Senior Analyst within our Future Energy Systems team. Join a talented and supportive team at the forefront of the energy transition, delivering leading-edge projects and initiatives across the NEM.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Leading engineering and analysis activities to develop technical requirements for distributed energy resources (DER).
- Engaging with industry stakeholders to develop solutions that support a power system with high levels of DER
We’re seeking a highly motivated individual with strong knowledge of DER products and integration, and a passion for expanding their capabilities while helping accelerate the transition of the NEM power system.

What You Will Be Doing
- Lead projects assessing emerging DER-related power system challenges and solutions.
- Analyse system impacts through testing, modelling and stakeholder collaboration.
- Lead internal and external stakeholder engagement and strategic collaboration.
- Support project prioritisation aligned to AEMO’S Engineering Roadmap and the National CER Roadmap.
- Prepare reports, recommendations and presentations for varied audiences.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
You will define problems and opportunities by analysing data, testing assumptions, and assessing how standards and requirements apply in practice. You’ll work with a diverse team of passionate engineers, analysts and DER specialists to support solution development. The focus is on understanding system behaviour and implications rather than designing solutions. A background in power systems is essential, with the ability to engage technical stakeholders and confidently interpret planning or operational discussions.
What You Will Bring To The Role
Education/Certificates
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Technology, or Science/Maths, or equivalent relevant discipline or work experience.
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office product suite.
Experience and Knowledge
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary DER or power systems projects.
- Ability to prepare and review high-quality technical reports and documentation.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret and summarise complex data and findings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication across diverse audiences.
- Proactive and outcomes-focused, with strong stakeholder relationship skills .
Desirable
- Significant experience within the energy industry or related technical fields.
- Strong understanding of power systems and the ability to apply knowledge to complex technical challenges.
