About the Project
The Malabar System Alliance delivers a major wastewater renewal program for Sydney Water. ACCIONA, SMEC and Sydney Water partner to upgrade and expand treatment capacity across Sydney's south and west. The program improves system performance, boosts environmental outcomes, and supports population growth. Works span multiple sites and involve complex infrastructure upgrades. This long-term program strengthens Sydney's essential water services.
The Opportunity
As a Project Engineer, you will ensure the effective coordination and control of Engineering Works through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and quality control. The Project Engineer supports the Senior Project Engineer in achieving safe, timely, and high-quality project completion within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the SPE and Construction Manager to ensure the project is delivered to cost & time with resources needed leading to a high level of client satisfaction
- Identify and assess risk to the project as well as the implementation of strategies to mitigate risk
- Cost and forecast control to assist the project managers with strategic planning
- Build effective and & collaborative relationships to coordinate activities with supervisors
- Maintaining quality, environmental, and safety systems across the project
- Liaise with subcontractors to monitor and control their performance ensuring the quality and standard of workmanship performed both on and off site is in accordance with the specifications and relevant procedures
- Manage construction budgets to allow accurately profit / loss forecasting and monitors the financial performance for certain aspects of the project
About You
- Tertiary qualified in Civil Engineering or similar
- Demonstrated experience with forecasting and budgeting
- Reviews design and translates to written plans and drawings illustrating construction methodologies, and
- Ability to develop project delivery plans. Evaluates and estimates commercial and technical risk.
- Manage specific engineering tasks independently and contributes to the development of project plans and schedules. Coordinates with team members and addresses routine issues with minimum supervision
