Senior Project Engineer
TESS Search Partners is partnering with DryFlow Magnetics (DryFlow) to appoint a high-calibre Senior Project Engineer to play a pivotal role in the commissioning and global deployment of its patented dry magnetic separation technology. DryFlow is a well-funded, scaling technology business commercialising a globally patented innovation set to transform the way iron ore is processed. With commercial deployment underway across Australia and the United States (US), the business is entering a critical growth and commissioning phase and this appointment sits at the centre of that journey.
Reporting to the CTO and working closely with the COO, this role will support the delivery of DryFlow’s first major US installation, alongside ongoing Australian development. This appointment will suit someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and excels in taking ownership across the full project lifecycle.
The Opportunity
- Lead and project manage the commissioning activities for DryFlow’s pilot and commercial units (brownfield mining site in the US).
- Work across design, fabrication, testing and deployment phases of pilot and commercial units.
- Interface with EPCM partners fabrication houses and US site stakeholders.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments for new technology deployment.
- Support cross-functional collaboration between design teams, consultants and site operators.
- Manage multiple workstreams including bill of materials, materials testing and supplier coordination.
- Provide technical leadership as the business scales, with the opportunity to grow into people management over time.
About You
- 10+ years’ post-graduate experience in mechanical, mechatronics, plant or process engineering.
- Strong exposure to mining, mineral processing, METS or heavy industrial environments.
- Previous commissioning experience, ideally in brownfield or pilot plant contexts.
- Experience with process equipment, machinery and mechanical design in operating plant environments.
- Solid understanding of CAD and simulation software.
- Strong stakeholder engagement capability across technical and operational environments.
- The ability to operate independently while supporting executive leadership (CTO & COO).
- Demonstrated commercial awareness and structured systems thinking across schedule, cost and risk.
If you are currently operating in a large mining or EPCM environment and want to step into a senior role with real influence, pace and ownership, this is your opportunity. Applicants must have ongoing rights to work in Australia and be able to undertake regular travel to the US.
