Role Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance, the Systems Accountant is responsible for the effective operation, integrity and continuous improvement of Capricorn’s finance systems and processes.
This role sits at the intersection of Finance and Technology, supporting core financial platforms and ensuring they deliver accurate processing, strong controls and reliable reporting outcomes.
You Will
- Own and support core finance systems including ERP/General Ledger, AP/AR, expense and reporting platforms
- Provide system support to Finance users, including issue triage, root cause analysis and resolution coordination
- Support month-end processes, ensuring system readiness, data accuracy and control integrity
- Manage system configuration, upgrades, and change control processes
- Maintain strong data governance across financial master data and reporting outputs
- Monitor integrations and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
- Create training materials, documentation and support adoption of system enhancements
- Partner with Finance, Technology and external vendors to deliver system improvements and projects
To Be Successful, You Will Bring
- Experience supporting or administering finance systems (e.g. Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Strong knowledge of accounting processes including GL, AP, AR and month-end close
- Advanced SQL capability to analyse and troubleshoot complex data and system issues
- Strong Excel and data/reporting skills, with exposure to BI tools advantageous
- Experience in system upgrades, UAT and change/release management
- Understanding of controls, audit requirements and segregation of duties
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across Finance and Technology
- A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and continuous improvement focus
