Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll work across financial reporting, month-end, audit, and budgeting processes, while maintaining strong internal controls and contributing to financial systems improvement. The sweet things you’ll be involved in
As our Financial Accountant, you’ll play a hands-on role in maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting and ensuring the smooth running of core finance processes. You’ll work across month-end close, compliance, forecasting, and audit preparation, while helping to improve systems and reporting efficiency. Your attention to detail and drive for accuracy will support sound financial governance and enable informed decision-making across the business.
What you’ll be doing
- Contributing to month-end processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting across profit and loss balance sheet and cash flow
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Supporting key internal controls and cash management processes
- Assisting with financial system processes to support monthly reporting, budgeting, and forecasting cycles
- Managing internal recharge documentation and preparing budget packs
- Preparing and submitting data for BAS and FBT compliance requirements
- Coordinating weekly cash flow forecasts and supporting overall cash management activities
- Providing reporting for capital project governance and assisting in capital project administration
- Assisting with year-end processes, financial statements, and external audits
- Continuously identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and drive efficiency
What we’re wanting you to bring to the table:
We’re seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated individual who is interested in growing their career. You’ll bring a strong technical skillset, a continuous improvement mindset, and a desire to add value to the business. You may be stepping out of professional services or already in industry and ready for a new challenge. We’re also open to considering recent graduates who have gained around 12 months’ relevant work experience as part of their university degree.
- Tertiary Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CPA or CA in progress
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in financial accounting or external audit, with a foundational understanding of Australian accounting standards, BAS, and reporting requirements
- Experience from an audit background (highly regarded)
- Intermediate Excel skills and comfortable working with large data sets
- Exposure to major ERP systems is an advantage
- High level of accuracy, strong organisational skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think methodically and deliver practical solutions
- Confident communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams
- Collaborative, detail-focused, and motivated to contribute to a high-performing finance team
