Why Deepwater
Established in 1986, Deepwater is one of the world’s leading specialist companies in offshore corrosion control, cathodic protection, subsea monitoring, and retrofit anode systems. The company has built its reputation by designing, manufacturing, installing, inspecting, and supporting corrosion control systems for offshore and marine infrastructure worldwide, with particular strength in retrofit technology for ageing assets requiring life extension.
Deepwater’s strength lies in specialist corrosion control engineering, proprietary technology, and practical offshore project delivery. Its technologies, including Polatrak subsea CP probes, I-Rod corrosion-preventing pipe supports, RetroBuoy ICCP retrofit system and RetroLink anode strings are used worldwide and have helped set the benchmark for offshore corrosion control, subsea monitoring, and cathodic protection retrofit solutions.
For an early-career engineer, this role provides exposure to end-to-end engineering within a specialist company, including design, product development, fabrication, testing, installation support, project management, and project delivery. It is suited to someone who wants to develop genuine technical capability and project delivery competence in a high-value niche engineering field.
Prior cathodic protection experience is beneficial but not essential. Deepwater will provide strong training and development support through real project work, mentoring from experienced engineers, internal technical guidance, and external training where appropriate, including AMPP / NACE training where suitable. This aligns with the role’s intended focus on training, development, and progression.
The role can progress toward either project management or technical corrosion engineering, depending on the candidate’s strengths and interests. Deepwater will provide the exposure, support, and responsibility required to build a long-term career in this specialist field.
