An exciting opportunity is now available for a Pre‑Construction Coordinator to join our SA Operations team. This role plays a critical part in supporting Sales, Drafting, and Operations by providing planning and compliance oversight that accelerates the transition from Sales to Operations and enhances the overall customer journey.

The Role

Reporting to the Drafting Team Leader, this role provides end‑to‑end planning, compliance, and pre‑construction support across all retail sales files. You will act as a key advisor to the Sales team, ensuring file quality, compliance integrity, and smooth job acceptance into Operations.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Driving and tracking consultant file submissions, including coordination of templates, checklists, and escalation of issues or delays
  • Reviewing files against submission requirements, including planning and developer encumbrance compliance
  • Accepting compliant files into Operations and supporting timely sales job acceptance
  • Producing concept designs and undertaking drafting work to support Sales and Drafting teams as required
  • Delivering Sales inductions and ongoing training on systems, processes, policies, and compliance requirements, including:
    • o SAPPA, Bluebeam, Canibuild, and other endorsed systems
    • o Sales process, stream management, and SA Variation Policy
    • o Reading engineering, interpreting Design Guidelines, planning requirements, documentation hierarchy, packaging, siting, and easements
  • Providing regular feedback to Sales on file quality, trends, and recurring planning or compliance issues
  • Managing House & Land package accuracy, estate information, pricing presentation, and land availability
  • Supporting fixed‑price site cost initiatives and ensuring Land Portal accuracy
  • Building strong, respectful, and productive working relationships between Sales and Operations, locally and nationally

About You

You Will Ideally Bring

  • Qualifications in planning, drafting, or a related field and/or at least two years’ experience in a similar pre‑construction, planning, or compliance role
  • Experience within the residential building industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • High computer literacy and confidence using industry systems
  • A collaborative, diplomatic, and customer‑focused approach
  • The ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure
  • A motivated, proactive mindset and a strong ability to build effective working relationships
  • Knowledge of PlanSA and the ability to interpret council and developer planning requirements via SAPPA (highly regarded)
