About the Opportunity
We are looking for an Executive Assistant to the General Manager to join our team at Murrumbidgee Local Health District.
In this pivotal role, you will provide high-quality organisational and administrative support to the General Manager, working independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced executive environment. Professionalism, confidentiality and exceptional communication skills are essential, as you will interact with staff at all levels, manage competing priorities and serve as a key point of contact for the GM’s office.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating correspondence and briefings within variable deadlines, maintaining efficient document management and filing systems
Managing the GM’s diary, travel arrangements and events hosted by the health service
Reviewing incoming and outgoing mail, prioritising for appropriate action and applying efficient tracking systems
Drafting, amending and editing presentations, letters, briefings, interdepartmental submissions and other correspondence
Preparing notices, agendas, meeting papers, minutes and reports, and providing secretarial support at meetings
Arranging and managing appointments and meetings on behalf of the GM, keeping the GM informed of all arrangements including external visitors
Coordinating responses to queries from the Minister’s Office, Director Operations, other MLHD directorates, external organisations and the general public
Ensuring timely processing of VMO accounts and appropriate allocation of fleet vehicles

About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Demonstrated experience providing high-level administrative and secretarial support at a senior level, with a proven capacity to operate in an environment requiring strict confidentiality
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure, meet tight timeframes and manage competing demands
Expert written and verbal communication skills, including well-developed writing, interpersonal and liaison skills, with the ability to problem solve, negotiate and use discretion
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel and graphics) and network-based applications
Demonstrated ability to respond and adapt to changing priorities in a multidisciplinary work environment
Proven capacity to work independently, exercise initiative and judgement, and contribute effectively within a team
Vaccination Category B compliance
