About the role
Reporting to the Head of Content, this role is responsible for executing the evergreen content strategy on both Australian Traveller and International Traveller websites with the help of a Content Producer. This includes updating, commissioning, editing and publishing the foundational destination content that helps our readers plan their next amazing travel experience. You’ll play a pivotal role in producing engaging stories that drive organic traffic growth, increased time on page, and reader engagement with our onsite LLM (Ask AT).

What you’ll do
- Commission, edit, publish and regularly update destination-led travel content optimised for reader engagement, search and AI discovery across Australian Traveller and International Traveller websites
- Maintain high editorial standards with a focus on accuracy, authority and first-hand insight
- Develop and maintain strong freelancer relationships and briefing systems
- Monitor and grow organic traffic, engagement and visibility across Google and AI-driven platforms
- Conduct keyword, entity and audience research to inform editorial strategy
- Analyse content performance using GA4, Google Search Console and SEO tools
- Help grow and refine Ask AT, our onsite LLM-powered travel tool by analysing prompts, outputs and user behaviour to improve quality, tone and usefulness
- Pitch and write travel features, news, opinion and analysis stories
- Attend media familiarisations and industry events as required
What We’re Looking For
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a fast-paced digital editorial role
- A proven track record of growing digital audiences
- Strong editing, commissioning and content planning experience
- Outstanding writing skills – from narrative long reads to snappy, engaging short-form copy, you are a fast and accurate writer who thrives under pressure
- Portfolio demonstrating high-quality feature writing and news writing
- A strong understanding of SEO and genuine interest in GEO, AEO and AIO
- Experience using GA4 and SEO platforms such as SEMrush, Ahrefs or Ubersuggest
- CMS experience (WordPress preferred)
- Basic Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Familiar with Meta Business Suite, Loomly, Canva and Asana (project management) a plus
