Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fifth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing, transport and health care. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.

Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 69,000 and is culturally rich with 17.4% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

Leisure Facilities - Duty Supervisor

Salary: $73,089.64 per annum

Closing: Friday 5 June 2026

Full Time – Temporary (To 28 June 2027)

The Leisure Facilities Department is seeking a fulltime Duty Supervisor to join our dynamic team across multiple indoor sports and leisure facilities. This is a 12 month fixed term position, providing parental leave cover, and is well suited to someone who thrives in a fast paced environment and is passionate about delivering high quality customer experiences.

As a Duty Supervisor, you will play a key role in the day to day operation of our leisure facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and welcoming environments for all patrons. You will work across multiple sites and support a range of programs, services, and events.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising daily facility operations and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
  • Supporting and overseeing programs, activities, and events
  • Delivering high standards of customer service and responding effectively to enquiries and issues
  • Providing on the floor leadership and support to staff
  • Assisting with administrative tasks, including rostering, bookings, cash handling, and reporting
  • Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and customer focused environment

We are seeking a candidate who is:

  • Reliable, proactive, and highly organised
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Confident in leading staff and making operational decisions
  • Customer focused, with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:

  • Leisure centre or aquatic facility operations
  • Staff supervision or team leadership
  • Customer service in a public facing environment
  • Financial and administrative processes, including cash handling and bookings systems

This role requires a high level of flexibility. Shifts may include:

  • Early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Work across multiple sites, depending on operational requirements
