Occupational Therapist - Community Care

Ozcare has a permanent part-time opportunity available for an Occupational Therapist with our Rockhampton Community Care Branch.

Your Role

As an Allied Health Professional, you'll be looking after the most important people in our organisation - our clients. This is a great opportunity to work across a wide range of client bases - from needing help with basic equipment, through to home modifications to assist our clients to stay safe in their homes and live as independently as possible. Your tasks will include:

  • Clinical assessments and treatment of physical and neurological conditions

  • Assessment and prescription of aids and equipment to improve independent living skills e.g. hoists, mobile commode, wheelchairs

  • Environmental assessments and home modifications to minimise the risk of falls and improve access

  • Assessment of clients' mobility and control when moving in their environments

Role Requirements

  • To be considered, applicants must have availability to work recurring fortnightly roster of Mon/Tues/Wed from 9:00am to 16:10pm

  • Current Police Screening Certificate (valid within past 3 years)

  • Current (P) PAID NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)

  • Current Queensland driver's licence

  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificates

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) & possess relevant qualification.

  • Proof of immunity, or willingness to become vaccinated against, Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (Chicken Pox) & Pertussis (Whooping Cough).

  • Strong computer & mobile device skills
