Senior Commercial Officer

About the Role

If you enjoy sitting at the intersection of commercial strategy, contracts and risk, this role will keep you engaged. As a Senior Commercial Officer, you’ll work closely with senior leaders to protect commercial outcomes while enabling the business to grow in a considered, ethical way. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes being close to decisions, not just reviewing them after the fact.

Key Responsibility

Based in our Brisbane office and reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you’ll act as a trusted commercial advisor across the business. Your days will be a mix of drafting and negotiating contracts, supporting tenders and bids, interpreting financial and contractual data, and helping teams navigate commercial risk with clarity and confidence. You’ll work across multiple stakeholders, balancing compliance and governance with practical, commercially sound solutions that support project delivery and sustainable returns.

Required Experience

• Strong experience managing commercial compliance, contracts and risk in a complex environment
• A solid understanding of contract law, corporate governance and regulatory frameworks
• The ability to interpret financial information and assess commercial risk and opportunity
• Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes

Desirable

• Experience supporting bids and tenders in a professional services or project-based environment
• Professional membership (or working towards) in a relevant commercial, legal or finance body
