The Role

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments.

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and automated cloud solutions, supporting ongoing transformation and uplift initiatives.

This role will see you contributing across the full lifecycle from solution design and build through to deployment, optimization, and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure solutions across Azure and AWS
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Bicep, ARM templates, and CloudFormation
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using DevOps tools (e.g. Azure DevOps)
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Ensure cloud environments meet security, compliance, and best practice standards
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud performance and cost efficiency
  • Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer across Azure, AWS, or multi-cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and infrastructure concepts
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g. PowerShell or similar)
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tooling (CI/CD, Git, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work in complex, fast-paced environments

Desirable

  • Cloud certifications (Azure or AWS)
  • Experience with containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Exposure to monitoring/logging tools (e.g. Azure Monitor, Splunk)
  • Background in large enterprise or government environments
