To be successful in this role you will possess the following qualities:

  • At least 1 year of previous conveyancing paralegal experience is preferable, however not essential
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally (written and verbal)
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and time constraints practically and effectively
  • The ability to build rapport with clients
  • A team player and team first approach, with the ability to work with team members of varying levels
  • Pro-active focus on progressing matters to completion

Your role

We are seeking a Conveyancing Paralegal to join our Real Estate & Construction practice group in Canberra, on a permanent full-time basis.

Our property and infrastructure development experience is extensive. Our clients operate across the spectrum of real estate developments including large residential and mixed-use projects, shopping centres, hotels and resorts, commercial and industrial buildings, major public infrastructure and large-scale master planned communities.

With the support of experienced and approachable Partners and other lawyers and paralegals, this role will be responsible for end-to-end file management for high volume development project matters and other conveyancing matters.

Duties will include:

  • processing new instructions, with direct contact with clients
  • preparation of contracts and preparation of letters and documentation
  • completing online searches
  • managing paper and PEXA settlements
  • financial and administrative tasks
