About The Role

At Bank of Sydney, we are a growing bank with a number big project in the pipeline so we are seeking a Business Analyst on a 12-month contract to support their successful delivery. As a Business Analyst you will be responsible for analysing current business operations, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending practical, people‑centred improvements. Reporting to the Head of Digital and Technology Portfolio Management, key responsibilities include:

  • Create accurate and readable processes & procedures for all our new and existing systems
  • Conduct interviews and facilitate workshops with key stakeholders to capture business needs and translate them into functional and non‑functional requirements
  • Map current processes to identify inefficiencies and areas that need improvement
  • Interpret data, identify trends, and provide insights that support decision‑making
  • Create BRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and other project artefacts
  • Assist with test planning, UAT coordination, defect triage, and validation of new systems and processes
  • Assess proposed solutions, conduct gap analysis, and validate alignment with business objectives
  • Provide training to key stakeholders for new processes or systems
  • Contribute to project planning, risk identification, and delivery tracking

All about you

We’re seeking a results-driven, passionate professional who is ready to take on a high-impact role. You’ll bring:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a BA in banking or financial services (preferably in the areas of payments, trade finance or banking operations)
  • Experience designing business process models, and user-facing dashboards in Power BI, Tableau or similar data analysis and visualization platforms.
  • Experience with requirements documentation (user stories, BRDs, process flows)
  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Understanding of SDLC, Agile, and/or Waterfall methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into simple, actionable insights
