ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.

The new transmission network infrastructure will deliver at least 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity from 2028 to connect 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar projects, which is enough to power more than 2 million homes each year.

Our Central-West Orana REZ Transmission Project is currently seeking a dedicated Steel Fixer to share their expertise within our growing Foundations TL team. In this role, you will be responsible for placing, fixing, and tying steel reinforcement to structural drawings and engineering specifications to support major transmission infrastructure works.

This is a remote project position operating on a 14 days on / 7 days off roster. Bus transport is currently provided from Sydney only, with various pick-up and drop-off locations between Sydney and the Mudgee region.

Applicants located within NSW outside the Sydney transport route will be required to DIDO (Drive In Drive Out) at their own expense. Please note this is not a FIFO role, and candidates residing outside NSW will be required to arrange and fund their own travel to Sydney or the site if successful.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, bar bending schedules, and structural specifications
• Cut, bend, and tie reinforcing steel (reo) to required shapes and sizes
• Place and secure steel reinforcement for concrete foundations, footings, slabs, and structural elements
• Install rebar, mesh, couplers, and other reinforcement systems in accordance with project requirements
• Ensure correct positioning, spacing, cover, and alignment of reinforcement prior to concrete pours
• Work closely with formwork carpenters, concreters, supervisors, and engineers to deliver high-quality foundation works
• Maintain compliance with all site safety procedures and quality standards

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Steel Fixer on civil, infrastructure, or major construction projects
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and bar bending schedules
• Competent in tying reo using correct techniques and tools
• Strong understanding of construction safety practices
• Construction white card
• Willing to undergo a pre-employment medical and police check
