The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Collections Officer to join our Commercial Division legal team. In this role, you will manage overdue accounts, ensure invoices are issued and sent promptly, negotiate payment arrangements, and collaborate with legal team to maintain compliance with all relevant regulations. Your efforts will help safeguard the firm's financial integrity while supporting excellent client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and generate regular reports
- Prepare collection reports for commercial division
- Monitor and manage outstanding invoices, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Ensure invoices are sent in a timely manner to clients.
- Contact clients via phone, email, and formal correspondence to arrange payments.
- Manage and maintain payment plans professionally and empathetically.
- Liaise with legal teams to prepare documentation for court actions when required.
- Ensure compliance with debt collection laws and privacy regulations.
- Assist in development of internal collection processes including retainer and client opening documentations
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in collections, preferably within the legal or financial sector.
- Strong knowledge of debt recovery processes and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in collections software and Microsoft Office Suite.
