As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will join a high-performing finance team to build up and improve its processes, take the lead on all technical accounting matters and work with an array of high-calibre stakeholders across the business.

About the opportunity

As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial reporting, compliance, and the audit process whilst collaborating with the business when it comes to budgeting & forecasting. Your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with ASX regulations and Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Oversee and manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including consolidation of financial results and preparation of corporate monthly journals.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, focusing on technical accounting issues
  • Prepare the budget and forecast, and analyse monthly performance
  • Act as the primary point of contact for auditors, coordinating and overseeing the audit process
  • Provide technical accounting support, identifying and addressing complex accounting issues
  • Lead or assist with ad-hoc financial projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

About you

This opportunity is best suited to a highly technical individual with experience in audit across the Big-4 or Mid-Tier firms, who is looking to deepen their experience in an ASX-listed business.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a background in external audit, with a further 2-3 years of commercial experience and is now looking for greater exposure as a Senior Financial Accountant with a genuine pathway to Finance Manager.

  • CA/CPA qualified or equivalent
  • Suitable for a Big 4 or Mid-tier 2nd mover from audit
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in accounting/auditing-related roles
  • Strong technical and financial acumen and a solid grasp of IFRS
  • Experience auditing or working within an ASX-listed business would be advantageous
  • First-rate communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders outside of finance
  • Committed to long-term progression and career growth, as this role will likely expand over time in responsibilities
