Victoria Racing Club (VRC) is seeking a Head of Digital Product & Platforms to lead the strategy, development and performance of our digital ecosystem.

This is a senior leadership role for a strategic, commercially minded digital expert who can bridge customer needs, business strategy and technology execution — delivering world‑class digital experiences that drive engagement, growth and innovation.

You will play a critical role in positioning VRC for the future, including advancing personalisation, platform scalability and emerging technologies such as AI.

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a Head of Digital Product & Platforms to define and lead VRC’s digital product vision, strategy and roadmap across core platforms including website, member portal, eCommerce and app.

You will act as the ultimate product owner, ensuring digital products and platforms deliver measurable value, scale effectively and create seamless, customer‑centred experiences across all touchpoints.

This role combines strategic leadership, product ownership, platform governance, innovation and cross‑functional delivery — while embedding modern product management practices across the organisation.

What you'll be responsible for

Digital Strategy & Product Ownership

  • Define and lead the digital product vision, roadmap and priorities
  • Translate strategy into clear outcomes, metrics and value delivery

Platforms & Technology

  • Oversee core platforms (website, app, eCommerce, member portal)
  • Ensure scalability, security and alignment with future needs
  • Partner with Technology on architecture, upgrades and integration

Customer Experience & Innovation

  • Champion customer‑centred, data‑driven design and personalisation
  • Drive continuous improvement through insights, testing and emerging technology (incl. AI)

Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead high‑performing product and delivery teams
  • Embed modern product practices and improve delivery speed and quality
  • Influence stakeholders and drive cross‑functional alignment

Governance & Performance

  • Manage investment, budgets and value realisation
  • Monitor performance and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards

What your background includes

  • Extensive senior experience (15+ years preferred) in digital product, platforms and technology delivery
  • Proven ability to align digital strategy to business outcomes and customer needs
  • Deep expertise in digital platforms, ecosystems and customer experience design
  • Strong understanding of product‑led operating models and end‑to‑end product lifecycle delivery
  • Experience working across enterprise platforms (CRM, CMS, eCommerce, data platforms)
  • Knowledge of tools such as Azure, Microsoft D365, Google Analytics, marketing automation and APIs
  • Experience integrating legacy and modern technology environments
  • Strategic perspective on AI and emerging technologies to drive growth
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills across technical and non‑technical areas
  • Excellent problem‑solving capability and a proactive, improvement‑focused mindset
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes
