We are currently recruiting Consultants to join our dynamic and high-achieving team in either Sydney or Melbourne office.
What you’ll do
The Consultant role is at the core of the case team structure. Consultants work closely up and down the team with Associates, Managers and Partners. The case team structure provides Consultants with a unique opportunity to manage a team of Associates from day one. The Consultant has primary responsibility for breaking down and analysing the client's strategic issues, developing recommendations and communicating those recommendations.
The Consultant has a high level of responsibility for guiding and managing the case, including:
- Working with Partners and Managers to outline the key business issues needing resolution.
- Structuring Analyses – Once the key issues have been identified, the Consultant forms a plan to find the answers to these critical questions including layout the strategy to the team for finding information on market growth drivers, competitive profiling, or broad market trends.
- Managing the Team’s Day-to-day Activities – A significant responsibility for L.E.K. Consultants is guiding and mentoring more junior Associates on a day-to-day basis.
- Plans, prioritises and manages multiple modules and meets case milestones utilising appropriate project planning tools and client engagement skills. Ensures quality of own deliverables and those of team.
- Solving the Case – provides high quality, actionable answers to the business problem by ensuring the team is on-track to accurately solve the problem and deliver an answer.
- Ensuring the team is on track to accurately solve the problem and deliver an answer. Consultants supervise analyses, develop the structure for the final output and participate in the delivery of the answer to the client.
- Recognises potential business opportunities and raises them with senior L.E.K. team.
- Provides regular and timely feedback to team on performance, both positive and constructive. Provides upward feedback to manager and partner on case management and leadership.
What we look for
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience in strategy consulting or corporate strategy in relevant industries
- Highly motivated, creative, and entrepreneurial individuals with strong commercial acumen
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience managing teams or end to end project management
- Comfort with ambiguity and change
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing and dynamic environment with integrity, patience and a sense of humour
- Willingness to travel
