The role

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the delivery of goals and objectives of Council’s Youth Services Team (YST) (branded as Youth ConneXions), through engagement with young people, research, planning, program design and delivery, in addition to supporting delivery outlined in the Youth Services implementation plan.

This position is responsible for leading youth voice initiatives and strengthening youth participation and leadership opportunities for young people, through the development of strategic partnerships. The role will oversee the delivery of annual youth surveys and key youth consultations, and lead data collection, analysis and reporting activities to inform the implementation of the Youth Services Implementation Plan.

About you

To be considered for this position you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in youth work, social work or related fields
  • A strong understanding of issues relating to young people and their families, and demonstrated experience delivering youth engagement and participation strategies.
  • The ability to gather, collate and analyse complex data, and use it as evidence to support comprehensive reporting on matters related to youth support.
  • Significant experience in planning, developing, delivering and evaluating youth strategies, policies and strategic projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to cooperate with and influence other staff and decision-makers across Council, as well as those from partner organisations, other government agencies and youth organisations, to resolve specialist problems.
