Quinn Allan have been exclusively engaged by a leading fashion designer, manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer to appoint a Finance Manager to their team. This organisation is undergoing an exciting period of transformation, presenting a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Financial Accountant / Senior Financial Accountant to step into their first managerial role. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position offers the chance to learn from an established industry leader while developing professionally.

About the Company and Role

Operating across design, manufacturing, wholesale, retail and ecommerce, the business has both a strong online and physical presence.

With a highly collaborative and energetic culture, this organisation would suit someone who values the benefits of working closely with colleagues in an office-based environment. This role is fully office-based, reporting directly to the CFO, and includes responsibility for three direct reports.

Working closely with the CFO and business owners, the role will oversee key aspects of the finance function including month-end reporting, treasury, statutory reporting, tax and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing month-end and year-end close processes
  • Preparing budgets and forecasts
  • Managing statutory reporting requirements
  • Overseeing AP, AR and payroll processing
  • Cash flow forecasting and analysis
  • Identifying and mitigating financial risks, including currency fluctuations
  • Analysing, advising on and managing financing arrangements
  • Ensuring AASB and tax compliance
  • Leading and mentoring the finance team, including part-qualified and transactional finance staff

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a driven and ambitious individual with a genuine interest in the fashion and retail sector. Previous experience managing or mentoring staff would be advantageous, although not essential. You will be comfortable operating in a hands-on environment, with the willingness to roll up your sleeves and support the wider team when required.

You will be:

  • CA / CPA / CIMA or equivalent qualified
  • A proven team player with strong drive and ambition
  • Experienced within the wholesale and/or retail sector, with an audit background preferred but not essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google applications, particularly Excel, with exposure to Xero, Adaptive and/or Cin7 viewed favourably
  • A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills
  • Able to meet deadlines whilst managing multiple competing priorities
  • Entrepreneurial in mindset, with the ability to work autonomously
