About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Lead ETL Specialist / Data Analyst to join a high-performing enterprise reporting and analytics team within a large Federal Government environment.

This role is ideal for a technically strong data professional who thrives in complex environments, enjoys leading teams, and has a passion for delivering high-quality reporting and business intelligence solutions that support operational and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

As the Lead ETL Specialist / Data Analyst, you will:

• Design, develop and maintain ETL solutions and reporting universes

• Build and quality assure enterprise reporting datasets and deliverables

• Lead and mentor a reporting team across multiple concurrent initiatives

• Gather business reporting requirements and deliver automated reporting solutions

• Support business users with self-service reporting capabilities

• Monitor reporting environments, manage incidents and maintain system performance

• Produce reporting specifications, status reporting and technical documentation

• Ensure knowledge transfer and documentation practices are maintained

Skills & Experience Required

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Strong ETL development experience

• Experience building Business Intelligence reporting universes

• Solid understanding of data management and data modelling practices

• Experience developing, testing and maintaining moderately complex programs/scripts

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

• Proven ability to lead teams and manage competing priorities

Desirable Skills

• Systems integration experience

• Software configuration experience

• Experience working within enterprise or government reporting environments

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid role based in Canberra. An initial onsite onboarding period is required, after which flexible working arrangements may be considered in line with operational requirements. Candidates should expect to work onsite a minimum of two days per week.
