Duration: Full time ongoing
Location: Newcastle. Hybrid: Requirements of attending Newcastle office 2 - 3 days per week, in line with team requirements.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced GIS mapping professional to join Subsidence Advisory NSW mapping / spatial team in providing specialist GIS mapping services using ESRI GIS Mapping Software. This is an exciting team-based opportunity, full time role based in Newcastle.
You will be responsible for producing quality and consistent maps and maintaining systems through the capturing, editing and validating of data. You will also be responsible for providing data to internal and external clients.
Where you will be working
Subsidence Advisory NSW operates for the community in coal mining areas of New South Wales, Australia, and is responsible for administering the - Coal Mine Subsidence Compensation Act. Expert advice is provided to property owners, government departments and authorities, local councils, - community organisations and industries within Mine Subsidence Districts, and throughout NSW.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated ability using Geographical Information Systems
- Understanding of mining and geological information
- Experience in providing technical advice to management
- Experience utilising the DCDB and an understanding of land titles
- Skills involving self-management, communication, delivery of results and project management
Advantageous
- Tertiary qualifications and/or experience in spatial information systems.

Salary Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at $113,574 base plus superannuation
